Kost Konsult Ltd ("Oya!", "we", "us", or "our") operates the Oya! Driver mobile application ("the App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you use the App.

By using the Oya! Driver App, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Account Information

When you log in to the App, we collect:

  • Phone number
  • PIN (securely hashed, never stored in plain text)
  • Driver profile details (name, photo, license information) as provided to Oya! during your onboarding

1.2 Location Data

The App collects precise location data (GPS coordinates, speed, and heading) from your device. This includes:

  • Foreground location: Used for navigation to pickup and dropoff points
  • Background location: During an active trip, your location is collected and transmitted every 10 seconds even when the App is not in the foreground. This is essential for real-time bus tracking by passengers and operations

Location data is only collected during active trips. Collection begins when you start a trip and stops when the trip is completed or cancelled.

1.3 Device Information

We may collect basic device information such as device model, operating system version, and unique device identifiers to ensure app compatibility and troubleshoot issues.

1.4 Usage Data

We collect information about how you interact with the App, including trip actions (start, passenger onboarding, trip completion), timestamps, and error logs.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Authenticate your identity and secure your account
  • Display your assigned trip schedules
  • Provide turn-by-turn navigation to pickup and dropoff points
  • Share your real-time location with passengers so they can track the bus
  • Enable the operations team to monitor active trips
  • Verify passenger boarding through enrolment codes
  • Maintain accurate trip records and manifests
  • Improve app performance and fix technical issues
  • Comply with applicable laws and regulations

3. Location Data Sharing

During an active trip, your real-time location is shared with:

  • Passengers on your scheduled trip, so they can track the bus
  • Oya! operations team, for fleet management and safety monitoring

Your location is not shared with any third parties for advertising or marketing purposes. Location sharing stops immediately when a trip ends.

4. Data Storage and Security

  • Your authentication token is stored securely on your device
  • Trip data may be cached locally on your device for offline functionality and synced with our servers when connectivity is restored
  • We use encrypted HTTPS connections for all data transmitted between the App and our servers
  • PINs are securely hashed and never stored or transmitted in plain text
  • We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data against unauthorized access

5. Data Retention

  • Location data from completed trips is retained for operational and safety records
  • Account information is retained for as long as you remain an active Oya! driver
  • If your driver account is deactivated, personal data will be deleted or anonymized within 90 days, except where retention is required by law

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data (subject to legal and operational requirements)
  • Withdraw consent for location tracking by ending your active trip or closing the App

The Oya! Driver App is intended for use by licensed drivers only and is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the App or other appropriate channels. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
